Heat encourages muscles to soften quickly, allowing deeper work with less discomfort, while cool stones can help reduce inflammation and create a balancing contrast. The temperature changes can also support circulation and lymphatic flow.

Pinda Sweda uses a warm herbal bolus (herbs wrapped in muslin) applied with rhythmic pressing and pummelling techniques to ease tension and support circulation. This may be followed by Udvartana, where ground Ayurvedic herbs are massaged over the body to stimulate the skin, support lymphatic movement, and reduce heaviness and fatigue.

Sessions are carefully tailored to your diagnosis, treatment plan, symptoms, energy levels, and any medical considerations—using appropriate pressure, positioning, and pacing to ensure comfort and safety.
May help with relaxation, reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep, comfort with pain or tension, emotional support and grounding.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Massage

A gentle, rhythmic massage designed to support the natural flow of lymph—a clear fluid that helps remove waste products, toxins, and excess fluid from body tissues. Unlike deep tissue or remedial work, lymphatic drainage uses light pressure and specific directional strokes (rather than friction) to encourage efficient lymph movement without overstimulating fluid production. This can support immune function, reduce fluid retention, and promote a lighter, less “puffy” feeling.  No oils are used in MLD.

May help with swelling/fluid retention, sluggish circulation, post-illness fatigue, fibromyalgia, stress-related inflammation, IBS and bloating, heaviness in limbs, general detox and wellbeing support (also used in some medical settings under guidance).

Indian Head Massage

Originating from the Ayurvedic tradition in India over a thousand years ago, Indian head massage, also known as champissage targets key areas of the head, neck, and shoulders. This therapeutic technique involves a series of rhythmic movements, including gentle kneading, tapping, and circular motions, designed to release built-up tension and promote relaxation.  The soothing touch and repetitive motions induce a state of deep relaxation, reducing levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in the body. This not only alleviates immediate feelings of anxiety but also promotes better sleep quality and overall mood stability.

Back Massage

One of the most common and beneficial parts of the body for massage is the back, since the nerves run through the spine. A good back massage can help relieve lower back pain. When a massage therapist works those muscles, some of the tension is released.

Reflexology

I have been a Reflexologist for 25 years and enjoying practicing this treatment and the many benefits it offers. Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy rooted in both traditional practices and modern wellbeing approaches. It involves applying light, precise pressure to specific points on the feet that relate to different areas and systems of the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, many of these points align with acupuncture points and energy pathways (meridians), which are believed to support balance and overall wellbeing, promoting a feeling of relaxation throughout the whole body, easing tension, and supporting the nervous system
