Craniosacral Therapy at The Magnolia Therapy Centre, Nottingham

Pat Hughes : Cranial Sacral Therapy

Pat Hughes is an experienced practitioner qualifying in CST in 1996.  A development from osteopathy, CST is extremely gentle, profoundly relaxing, and suitable for all ages and conditions.

The practitioner gently focuses on the palpable motion of the fluids of the spine and head.  Physical restrictions and emotional tensions in the body are gently eased.  The body stores tensions over the years, as it adapts and compensates to these stresses, so many symptoms emerge.  Many common problems such as headaches, back pain and digestive disturbances may stem from earlier physical or emotional conditions.  CST can safely access and release these states.  The treatment is individual to each person and aims to get to the underlying causes of symptoms.  It has a calming effect on the nervous system and can prove helpful in cases of anxiety, shock, trauma and post operative conditions.  Other conditions often seen include, TMJ dysfunction, headaches and migraines, ME and pain.   CST also helps pregnant women to relax and eases back pain and nausea.  It is especially effective in supporting babies recovering from birth, with symptoms such as colic, sleep problems and excessive crying.

Magdalena Jakiel - Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

After twenty years working as an accountant, I realised I wanted to move towards a more meaningful and people-centred path. When I discovered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, I felt an immediate connection — it offered a gentle yet profound way to support others in their health and wellbeing.
In my sessions, I provide a calm and compassionate space where clients can slow down, listen to their bodies, and allow their natural capacity for balance and healing to unfold. This work can support a wide range of experiences — from physical tension, fatigue and pain, to emotional overwhelm, stress, or simply the wish to feel more grounded and at ease in life.

I completed a two-year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in June 2025 and am an Associate Member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA). I am also currently studying Hypnotherapy and Counselling, deepening my understanding of communication and emotional wellbeing.
I offer sessions for adults (16 +) in a safe and nurturing environment.
